The pristine Fiji Islands are home to the South Pacific's finest sport and game fish, including massive GT's, monster dogtooth tuna, yellowfin tuna, dolphin fish, wahoo, spanish mackerel, black marlin, blue marlin and plenty of reef fish.
Many of these species are endemic to the Great Astrolabe Reef (one of the largest barrier reefs in the world), which is the reef that encompasses Kadavu Island, Fiji.
Fishabout now offer 6 and 8 day fishing packages to explore this marine wonder of the world, which include 3 and 5 days fishing respectively.

The Fishing in Fiji:
The tropical Fijian waters fish well all year round, and with different target species in every month of the year. Depending on your favorites however, there are better months to catch more of or larger fish. The choice is yours!
Giant Trevally can be popper fished for in Fiji, and are prolific all year round.
Sailfish can be caught in Fijian waters all year round. During the cooler months May to October they gather along the edges of the reefs and are often encountered in packs.
Yellowfin Tuna are also found in schools year round, though a spawning aggregation occurs anytime from December to February which is when most of the bigger yellowfin are caught.
Blue marlin are another year round proposition with the bigger fish caught during the tuna aggregation from December to February. Black marlin can show up at any time when fishing for other species and come in all sizes.
Wahoo are great fun on light tackle and catches of more than 20 per day are not unusual. Dogtooth tuna are one of our favorite fish to catch as they don’t come easy and they love to go hard.
Kadavu has some unbeleivable diving, with its barrier reef, the great astrolabe reef, being the fourth largest barrier reef in the world! Fishabout can package up diving and fishing adventures to Kadavu, please contact us for more details on (02) 8922 2651
